Greek Week

Hey everyone! Hope you're all handling the college decision process a lot better than I'm handling midterms and the lead-in to finals.

First Camping Trip

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

Last weekend we had some crazy weather here in Boulder. It was raining and stormy and cold, something we haven't experienced in months. So of course, my friends and I decided to go camping! Now let me tell you, I have never been truly camping before- the closest I've ever gotten was sleeping in a tent next to a house. So I was very excited for my frist real camping.

Favorite Classes of Freshman Year

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

As my first year of college is quickly coming to a close, I decided to let you know what my favorite classes that I took this year were. Being a freshman, it isn't easy knowing what types of classes you will be the most comfortable in or what subjects you will be interested in. My main tip is to just try out some classes to see if you like them. This is something to do especially if you are open-option like me. I took a political science class to see if I would be interested in that as my major.

When in Rome

Monday, April 16, 2012

Well, I'm finally back in Italy! I have to say, it's really strange, but it feels good to be back. I have been traveling to Rome since I was 11, and I also lived in a city north of Rome called Viterbo my entire junior year of high school. I've been back a couple of times since my junior year, and each time it gets weirder and weirder, mostly because all of my friends are still 15 and 16 in my head. But obviously we have all grown up, some are in university, and others are working. But we're still all the same group of friends, which is awesome as always!

Easter 2012

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

This year was my first time ever having to celebrate Easter without my family. I was a little homesick but it ended up being an awesome day. I woke up at 3:30 in the morning to drive to Red Rock Amphitheater with some friends for a sunrise service. We got there just in time to see the full Moon dropping behind the hills in the West as the Sun was peeking out in the East. It was one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen and being able to share it with hundreds of people on Easter morning was perfect.

Happy Easter!

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

This past Sunday was Easter! Since is was my cousins' Spring Break, my whole family got to visit me for Easter. We started out the weekend by dying Easter eggs and having dinner at Salt on Pearl Street. It was so great to be on Pearl Street in the spring to see all of the tulips in bloom. We walked around and danced to the street performer's music with my 4 year old and 7 year old cousins.

Semana Santa

Thursday, April 5, 2012

Well, it's finally Spring Break! We have two and a half weeks off (woohoo!) and I am going to Italy just for a week of it. The reason being is because Spain has a lot of amazing holidays right now, and I really wanted to see them! For example, right now is the Semana Santa (Holy Week), and everyday there are numerous processions throughout the city. Now, processions here aren't like the 4th of July parades back in the States (although they have stands about every 20 feet selling candy...delicious.) These are very serious, and meant to be very sad.

Spring Break 2012

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

I just returned yesterday from my spring break trip to California. I was so excited for a beachy, sunny vacation but what I got was a cold, sometimes rainy adventure. Despite the weather, I had an awesome week. I got to visit one of my best friends at University of Southern California. I got to meet all of her friends and go to her favorite places in Los Angeles. After that, I went to visit one of my lifelong friends at University of Redlands. Once again, it was very fun getting to meet all of her friends and seeing what her school life was like.

Spring Break

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

This past week was spring break! I was lucky enough to get to take a vacation in Mexico with my family and our family friends. We had so much fun taking a break from school work and after a week of midterms, it was well deserved. We started the week off with a visit to my hometown and a trip to San Francisco. My Big from Kappa was coming with us and wanted to ride a Cable Car and see the Golden Gate Bridge and although it was pouring rain, we made the best of it. After 2 days in rainy California, we got right back on a plane and landed in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
