Last Weekend with the Program

Friday, May 4, 2012

Well, the time has arrived. My program and the group below me will be leaving next weekend:( It's weird though. We all know it's going to happen, but, due to finals next week, we haven't exactly started thinking about it. Which is good I guess. Better to be sad after finals. It's going to be really strange having half of the Americans gone. At least some of my friends from the higher program will still be here!

Little Known Secrets in StudyVille, Boulder II

Thursday, May 3, 2012

I did a post of favorite study hideouts last semester and this semester, I have a bunch more:

The library is probably not your best bet to get work done quietly and alone (I have barely ever studied in the library).

1. JILA Tower.

2. Department Labs (For me, I have access to the KESDAL lab at the GEOG building. You should have access to special rooms and labs in your department building after hours).

3. UMC 5th Floor.

4. Off-campus local Coffee Shops.

5. BOLD Center, Engineering.

Formal and Family

Tuesday, May 1, 2012

What a busy week!! Last Wednesday, my dad came to visit me for the evening! We went to dinner at Sherpa, an absolutely delicious Tibetan restaurant on Walnut St. in Boulder.

CU Quirks

Monday, April 30, 2012

CU is a quirky school-- its idiosyncracies make it all the more loveable. Here are a few I could think up off the top of my head:

May Days: The Challenge

Monday, April 30, 2012

May is the most challenging month for CU students. Their final papers, final projects, and final exams intertwine with one another in what can be a menacing way for procrastinators (read: most of the student population). All of the sudden, students confine themselves to the twenty-four hour section of Norlin Library, frantically trying to squeeze everything in. Though this isn’t so different from finals in December, the real challenge is in being forced to stay inside, deprivied of the ability to enjoy the day.

Summertime Plans

Monday, April 30, 2012

This summer is approaching at a rapid speed—I can’t believe tomorrow is going to be the first of May! The best part, for me at least, is all the exciting things I have going on this summer.
