Enjoying My Time in Aix

Thursday, March 12, 2015

Hi everyone!

With traveling so much, I haven’t really been able to enjoy spending much time in Aix. The last few days, I have tried to spend as much time experiencing the French lifestyle!

If You Don't Like the Weather, Turn Around

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Last week, Boulder was hit with 7 days of snow. Going anywhere was almost impossible as the roads were icy and snow was piling up. My roommates and I took up the activity of hanging out in our basement and watching movies and catching up on TV shows. I had to layer up so much every time I went outside because otherwise I would complete freeze on my walk to class. Walking through campus reminded me of living in a snow globe. It was absolutely beautiful, but also I was starting to get a little sick of winter.

"Yeah . . . I'm here for some advising?"

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Coming from a small school (actually it could be referred to as miniscule), I didn’t fully understand the prospect of choosing your own schedule. I’d always had “options” at my school, which meant that I could choose between the five math classes my school offered. And that’s five courses spread out over four years, by the way. So coming to college and literally having a course CATALOG was a bit of a surprise. The freedom I had was also exhilarating and terrifying.

A Little Wiser

Tuesday, March 10, 2015

How to survive freshman year: maybe I’m writing this post a little prematurely, because who knows what will happen in my next two months as a freshmen (ahh, time really does fly), but I like to think that I am a little wiser than when I walked into my residence hall seven months ago.

When Mama Comes to Town

Monday, March 9, 2015

One thing that any college student will quickly realize is that when the parents come to town it means nice meals, a big hotel bed, and finally running all those errands you have been putting off.  This past weekend was my sorority’s mom’s weekend, so I did exactly that.

Hi everyone! It has certainly been awhile since I’ve written a post, but let me tell you, study abroad is busier than you think!

The Good, the Bad, and the Sick

Wednesday, March 4, 2015

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and most of the time you get sick. A sad fact of college is that you will get sick. A lot. Like, I’m pretty sure the amount of times I’ve been sick breaks several natural laws. I guess when you live in a building with 339 other people and recycled air, colds tend to flourish.

Restaurant Week!

Tuesday, March 3, 2015

Restaurant Week is a cool thing to take advantage of in Boulder and Denver. In the last week of February and the last week of August, a bunch of fancy restaurants in the Boulder/Denver area agree to charge a flat price for a 3 or 4-course dinner. Most are $30 per person for a few courses plus dessert, which may sound like a lot, but it's what you would get for $70 or more per person at those restaurants normally. It's definitely a splurge for the average college student, but I promise it's worth it. It's a cool chance to be fancy for cheap, and to bring your friends.

And my nose is froze. And my ears are froze. And my toes are froze. And I am froze.

Tuesday, March 3, 2015

What do you do all weekend when you’re in a dorm room, it’s freezing and snowing outside, and you don’t have a car? Not a whole lot, that’s what I am here to tell you. However, my friends and I made the best of this snowy weekend and even managed to change out of our PJs and leave the dorm once or twice.

Mom's Weekend

Monday, March 2, 2015

This past weekend was my last mom's weekend for my sorority. For mom's weekend, the event chair in my sorority plans fun acitivities to do for everybody. But since this was our last mom's weekend, my close group of friends and I wanted to spend the weekend with just each other and our moms. So we planned our own events since we have done them at the sorority house every year. (Although this year's Canvas and Mocktails event and brunch was really tempting). One of my roommates, Laura, wanted to plan a fun dinner with some of the seniors and our moms. We all met up at the St.
