Parent's Weekend

Friday, October 5, 2012

This past weekend was Parent's Weekend and I was lucky enough to have my parents fly out from California to visit me. There are many activities that CU Boulder puts on for parent's weekend that are a lot of fun. There are special tailgates and pre-football game fun to attend. My parents came in on Friday morning and I met them for dinner after my classes at Hapa sushi on the Pearl Street Mall. We then walked around Pearl Street Mall and looked into the shops. They just recently put in a new candy store on the Pearl Street Mall so we went in and looked for a good 30 minutes.

Buff-Style Weekend

Friday, October 5, 2012

Hey all!

Crazy past week here at CU, in the best way!

The weekend started off with the CU vs UCLA game, and as always, the Student Section is the best place to be. My roommate and my favorite part of Parent's Weekend is when Chip, the CU mascot, brings his parents and baby brother to the game! We made it our mission the whole game to try to find them and get a picture... and in the third quarter we finally did! SO EXCITING! I attached a picture here below!

Hall of Excellence

If any of you have ever taken a campus tour at CU-Boulder, you may remember the stop at the top of Old Main in the Heritage Center. The Heritage Center is a museum that basically seeks to honor and remember some of CU-Boulder’s most significant historical moments, people and accomplishments.

And just like that...

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

The cold has arrived! I am so excited for some cold weather to finally be here. And, even better, it's supposed to snow on Saturday! It's finally Fall for real this time. No more 80 degree weather...hopefully. You never know with Boulder, I guess! But luckily all of this cold weather has come at the right time, because it really discourages me from going outside and doing nothing when I should be studying for my midterms.

Q:  Where in the United States does a typical college Friday night involve climbing two 14ers under the moonlight and Milky Way, and end with a sunrise at 14,275 feet?

A:  Boulder, Colorado

Horseback Riding!

Monday, October 1, 2012

It's no surprise Boulder has TONS to do within its city limits, but there is also a lot to do outside of town. For instance, Denver is only 30-40 minutes away from Boulder, so you can always attend a sporting event, explore downtown and eat at fun restaurants in the Mile High City. Also, the ski resorts aren't that far from Boulder, so when winter comes, planning a weekend trip to the mountains isn't out of the question. I, however, am familiar with and grew up going to a place just about an hour away from Boulder in the Rocky Mountains.

Much to Say About Nothing

Sunday, September 30, 2012

This is how I feel today.

Usually, Sundays are reserved for an adventure around Boulder with my boyfriend, a Sunday Funday. Alas, midterm season has arrived like a tornado of essays, blue books, and study sheets.
