Piece, Love, and Chocolate

Thursday, November 15, 2012

On the Pearl Street Mall, there is a little store called Piece, Love, and Chocolate. This store sells all things chocolate, from chocolate truffles to chocolate pasta. For my birthday, my sister gave me a cooking class at this chocolate store because she knows how much I love chocolate. There were a few different classes to choose from but we decided to choose the molten chocolate lava cake and served with three different sauces. This class looked like so much fun from the website and I couldn't wait to go and learn how to make this amazing dessert.

Buffs Basketball

Now I am a die hard Buff. Winning, losing, or otherwise I am at every game. However, it sure is nice when they are winning, and that is exactly what the men’s basketball team has been doing. Last year the won the Pac-12 tournament and reached the round of 32 in the NCAA tournament. The season tipped off last Friday, and the Buffs crushed Wofford.

The Final Countdown

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

I must admit that the end of the semester has completely snuck up on me. After break, we only have 3 WEEKS until final exams! Which is really, really scary. But, fortunately there are some awesome things coming up that make the gloominess that is finals week fun! Here's a quick list:

Safety First

Monday, November 12, 2012

So, you may have heard that Boulder is a sleepy little college town, when it comes to crime rates, and this is true. In fact, the biggest crime here is property theft. Can you guess what is stolen the most? Bikes. There are so many bikes in this city--- even more than cars…and I like to joke that some of these bikes cost even more than my car. So, Boulder is a quiet, safe college town.

Perks of Colorado!

Monday, November 12, 2012

Hi, all! This week has been crazy busy as usual. Tuesday I had another test, and I think it went well! It's always such a relief to believe you actually did well rather than having the fear in your mind that it may have not gone as planned :)

The Beautiful Game

Monday, November 12, 2012

Ever since I was a little kid, I played indoor soccer at Boulder Indoor Soccer, a great turf facility on 28th Street and Valmont in Eastern Boulder.  I stopped playing organized soccer after 8th grade, but In high school, my friends and I fielded a very competitive team in the high school league at Boulder Indoor.  This team, named Deep Threat because of our superior speed to the edge as a team, earned a large following my senior year of high school.  When some members of Deep Threat went to CU, we decided to extend the legend of Deep Threat onto the Men's league at Boulder Indoor.

Dance Marathon

Thursday, November 8, 2012

Well, I can finally say that I am somewhat relaxed! I finished my big writing essay, my thesis is coming along really well, and I have no more tests until finals! If that's not an amazing feeling, I don't know what is! What's even better is that I get to go home next Friday! I haven't seen my family in so long, and I'm really excited to see them and my dog, and eat some really good food for Thanksgiving! Gotta love mashed potatoes.

Homecoming

Thursday, November 8, 2012

Last weekend, was homecoming weekend for CU. Homecoming weekend is a time where alumni come back to Boulder and attend the game and relive some of their favorite college memories. For me, homecoming was all about a competition with all of the other sororities and fraternities. Homecoming weekend started with a Greek letter check in at the UMC where we all wore out greek letters and signed our name on a sheet of paper to show our support. The house with most people wearing their letters won points for their house. The next event for homecoming week was Homecoming King and Queen.
