Achieving dreams through CU-Boulder

Thursday, April 25, 2013

Hey Buffs!

I have some very exciting news to share! This past month, I interviewed for a public relations internship at Sports Illustrated and was offered and happily accepted the position a few weeks ago! That's right! I am headed to New York City for the summer upon graduating with double degrees in journalism and communication in May.

Greek Week 2013

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

This past week have been Greek Week at CU Boulder. Greek Week is when the sororities and fraternities are paired up to make up 9 teams. Each team competes in different events each day for points. The team with the most points at the end wins Greek Week and wins a trophy for their house. This year's theme was Boulder Class Reunion and each team had a Most Likely to... theme. Our theme was Most Likely To Become a Rockstar and all of our events were based on this theme.

Studying in Boulder

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Every CU-Boulder student has their favorite study spot. With the many buildings on campus, a giant library, and numerous cafes all over the city, there are many options for where to best get work done. I have a few spots that are my go to places, usually depending on how much time I have, what I need to get done, and what day of the week it is.

Hey everyone! The school year is just about wrapping up, so these are my final posts (for this blog, I’m sure I’ll make posts elsewhere one day).

Coffee Week

Monday, April 22, 2013

The weather this past week certainly qualified as a blizzard here in Colorado! I scraped my car five times on last Wednesday alone. Young Life College at CU was supposed to go down to the Rockies game (a 30 minute bus ride away!) but the piles of snow cancelled the game and our trip. So instead, we put on a Coffee House event at one of our houses and invited everyone over for warm drinks and good treats. I manned the Keurig machine while 55 of our closest friends crammed into a two-bedroom apartment - bet you've never heard of a coffee party before!

Yoga in Boulder

Sunday, April 21, 2013

When I was in High School, I started doing Yoga with my mom as way to bond and a way to get through my senioritis. This is when I realized that I really liked doing yoga as a way to work out. Since I've been in college, I've loved finding new ways to excercise and new classes to attend. One of my favorite things to still do is attend yoga classes. This can get pretty expensive since drop in classes are a little too pricey for me, even though they do have student discounts which is really nice. I go when I can, but this can add up.

Boulder Style

Friday, April 19, 2013

A few years ago Boulder was awarded/insulted by two different magazine write-ups. In one Boulder was ranked the Worst-dressed city in America. In another Boulder's populace was voted the "Best to look at Naked."

Well, walking around town I have certainly seen my fair share of fashion faux paus. However, let's be real, the reason people wear such horrible clothing is because they're so comfortable. So, I have compiled a few steps on how to fit dress right in Boulder:

1. Bucket hats are cool.

2. Socks and Sandals are A-OK (see picture)
