Hello Everyone! Can you believe its already November?! Time flies here at college! I had a bunch of midterms and papers due this past week. I also started a major group project that involves research and observation. Thankfully, this upcoming week is going to be an easy one! Yesterday (Saturday), I went up snowboarding!! One of reasons I decided to attend CU Boulder was due to the location. Being just a short drive away from amazing ski resorts is awesome. Back home in California, I had to drive about 4 ½ hours to get up to the mountains, so driving 1 ½ to 2 hours seems like nothing!
Despite how crazy busy this time of the semester has been, I still made time for celebrating Halloween. And in case you were wondering, I ended up wearing a pair of Minnie Mouse ears and a black dress for the few events I attended at which I dressed up - I wanted to dress for the occasion, but not draw too much attention to myself. I feel like senior year it's less about the costume preparation and more about pooling the resources you already have to put together a costume - we have to save that money for grad school, you know?!
Hi, everyone! This weekend was full of sugar and exploring - two of my favorite things!
One of my best friends from Texas came to visit for the weekend so we crammed as many of her favorite Boulder activities into about 48 hours as we could. Saturday morning, we went for a North Boulder stroll through the more residential part of Boulder. The trees in this area tower over the wide variety of old-timey houses and in the fall, exploring North Boulder is as beautiful as a hike up in Chataqua! The leaves are every color and make for just the most enjoyable scenery for a walk.
As I just wrote that I am having trouble believing it is actually November! It seems like this semester is slipping through my fingers. I was looking through my calendar today and I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and then after that, finals will here! It is amazing how quickly time goes by.

A fun fact for all you geography buffs out there: the city of Istanbul is actually on two different continents. Divided between Europe and Asia, the city is bisected by the Bosphorus Strait, a narrow body of water that connects the Black Sea to the north with the Sea of Marmara to the south.
This week has been a blast! Even though Thanksgiving and Christmas are my two favorite holidays since its time to spend with family, Halloween is one of the best holidays to celebrate here at CU Boulder. Almost everyone dresses up in some sort of costume over multiple days! Since Halloween fell on a Thursday this year, CU students and Boulder celebrates Halloween Thursday-Saturday. When I was walking around campus on the Thursday (Halloween), there were tons of students dressed up in scary, funny, and just weird costumes!
I love the Olympics. The summer Olympics that is, I'm not a huge fan of the winter Olympics. So as you can imagine I have been glued to my TV for the past two weeks catching every event that I can! My favorite event is swimming, because I've been swimming competitively since I was about 6 years old...
