This past week have been Greek Week at CU Boulder. Greek Week is when the sororities and fraternities are paired up to make up 9 teams. Each team competes in different events each day for points. The team with the most points at the end wins Greek Week and wins a trophy for their house. This year's theme was Boulder Class Reunion and each team had a Most Likely to... theme. Our theme was Most Likely To Become a Rockstar and all of our events were based on this theme.
Every CU-Boulder student has their favorite study spot. With the many buildings on campus, a giant library, and numerous cafes all over the city, there are many options for where to best get work done. I have a few spots that are my go to places, usually depending on how much time I have, what I need to get done, and what day of the week it is.
The weather this past week certainly qualified as a blizzard here in Colorado! I scraped my car five times on last Wednesday alone. Young Life College at CU was supposed to go down to the Rockies game (a 30 minute bus ride away!) but the piles of snow cancelled the game and our trip. So instead, we put on a Coffee House event at one of our houses and invited everyone over for warm drinks and good treats. I manned the Keurig machine while 55 of our closest friends crammed into a two-bedroom apartment - bet you've never heard of a coffee party before!
When I was in High School, I started doing Yoga with my mom as way to bond and a way to get through my senioritis. This is when I realized that I really liked doing yoga as a way to work out. Since I've been in college, I've loved finding new ways to excercise and new classes to attend. One of my favorite things to still do is attend yoga classes. This can get pretty expensive since drop in classes are a little too pricey for me, even though they do have student discounts which is really nice. I go when I can, but this can add up.
A few years ago Boulder was awarded/insulted by two different magazine write-ups. In one Boulder was ranked the Worst-dressed city in America. In another Boulder's populace was voted the "Best to look at Naked."
Well, walking around town I have certainly seen my fair share of fashion faux paus. However, let's be real, the reason people wear such horrible clothing is because they're so comfortable. So, I have compiled a few steps on how to fit dress right in Boulder:
Silver linings have been playing a big part in my life recently, especially regarding this weather. While I do think that it is absolutely crazy that we're getting this much snow in April, my silver lining is that I get to see the Flatirons covered in snow one last time before moving back east, which is absolutely an amazingly beautiful sight. Aside from the weather, things have also been pretty crazy, especially seeing that finals and graduation are less than three weeks away!
I have realized my blog has become very food centered this semester as I've explored the variety of restaurants scattered throughout Boulder. Boulder was voted one of the "Foodiest" cities in the US recently, so naturally there are lots of places to try!
I went to The Cup on Pearl to meet with a friend for coffee last Tuesday on my day off. The Cup is a cute, local coffee shop that has a unique and wide variety of coffee options, including espresso and ice cream in the same cup - something I will have to try this summer!
Like most weeks in Colorado, we began with 80 degree weather on Monday, and we're finishing the week with temps in the mid-30s. If you didn't already know, autumn is my favorite time of year, and ladies and gentlemen, I believe it is here! The trees are beginning to turn a beautiful golden, red...
