We did it! The CU football team got its first win against the University of Arizona this past Saturday! It was so strange to see the Buffs playing at such a high and successful level, but I loved it!
One of our traditions in the band (but really only between a friend of mine in my saxophone section and I) is to get a picture with the opposing team's cheerleaders every week (if they bring any). This week was no exception, but in addition, we got a picture with Rodney Stewart, the Buffs' star running back!
Also this weekend was my fraternity’s semi-formal, which I planned this year. We went up to the Red Lion restaurant up Boulder canyon and had a super nice dinner. My family was also in town this weekend, so they came to the semi-formal too, and that was really cool. They had never met a lot of my brothers, so it was nice to introduce my brothers to my parents and sister (sounds kind of weird, huh?).
And then! Topping it all off, Sunday was the marching band’s annual end of the season banquet. Band banquet is really special because we get to use the “club level” of Folsom field. We have a nice dinner and dance and such, and, come to think of it, it’s almost exactly like my fraternity’s semi-formal! The highlights of that night were the annual slideshow (which I was actually featured in this year, thanks to Tebowing) and almost receiving the cutest couple award (with help from my beautiful girlfriend, of course!). Unfortunately, we got beaten out by some of our friends.
Below are some pictures of the weekend to give you an idea of just how much fun I had! Here's my friend Doug and I with the U of A cheerleaders! Here's my friend Doug and I with the star running back, Rodney Stewart.
We finally won!
