Walking in a Winter Wonderland.... In October??!

Thursday, October 27, 2011

Ok future Buffs...

First piece of advice (this especially goes to all the out-of-staters): COME TO COLLEGE PREPARED FOR SNOW!!! Yesterday we had our FIRST snowstorm of the season! 7-12 inches of snow fell all over the state. Temps stayed below 30s and it was a big wet mess trying to walk from class to class. As long as you bring snowboots (or rainboots, as some wear) your toes will stay nice and warm and you won't mind walking around outside. In fact, it's fun jumping around in the slushy mess of water and snow. Makes me feel like I'm 7 years old again. Although cold, yesterday was actually very beautiful outside. It really felt and looked like a winter wonderland. So much so, I started humming christmas songs!!!! -Not really, but you get the idea. I did treat myself to a nice cup of hot cocoa at Folsom Street, which is a tiny coffee shop located in one of the classroom buildings on campus. There is something wonderful about hot cocoa from a coffee shop. I think it's the frothy milk they make it with. Anyway, YUUUUMMMMM. The sun is shining today and temps are warming up again for the weekend. That is what is so great about Colorado. It will snow one day and the next day the sun is shining again. I hope you are all enjoying your week! Here are some pics from yesterday....

This is Ferrand Field covered in snow.

Glad that's not my bike...
