Top ten things before I graduate next semester

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

10. Play a full game of basketball on the Coors event centers court, I only put this so low because I got the chance to play a few points of a game on the NCAA court but still haven’t gotten far

9. See the machine that generates absolute zero on campus, This creates the coldest place in the world or perhaps in the universe and it is on campus, its real life science fiction

8. Rock climb the first flat iron, I have been rock climbing sense I came to Boulder but the 800ft front face has still scared me away

7. Jump the cliff of Boulder Canyon, this doesn’t seem like a challenge but the jump is up a steep climb and in to less than 10ft of white water freshly produced from snow melted only hours earlier.

6. Camp in a place without people, I go camping regularly while in school here at Boulder but I have been longing to set up camp where you can’t see another light in any direction

5.Go white water rafting without a company; I have gone down many of the wildest rapid runs in Colorado but there are some that can only be done without liability being placed on a company

4. Take the polar plunge at one of the lakes or reservoirs; I have been in many a glaciated lake even with ice burgs floating in them but never one frozen over or in the dead of winter

3. See a performance at Mackey Auditorium, I always talk about the great acoustics and have been inside but only for speeches never for musicians

2. Snow board down a 14,000 foot mountain, there are many around the state but they aren’t easy to hike in the winter especially with a board on your back

1. Hike Longs Peak, I came to this school afraid of heights and after many trips rock climbing I am finally ready to tackle the big one
