Thanksgiving/End of the Road Loss Streak!

Thursday, December 1, 2011

Hey everyone!

I always love Thanksgiving because it's a nice break before the hell that is college finals. It's also fun because there's tons of food, tons of football, and I get to spend time with my family. For as long as I can remember, my family has always taken the short (relatively in Texas) drive from Austin to Houston to see family on my Dad's side. There's great food every year. My favorite is my Aunt's spinach artichoke dip, served in a bread bowl. Most of all, I love the break that Thanksgiving gives. A chance to go home and decompress from the previous 3 months is pretty important, especially before finals start. I even have a final today, before finals week has even started!

Something else wonderful happened during the Thanksgiving break! The CU Buffs football team broke their road losing streak! The Buffs had not won a true road game (that is, outside of Folsom Field or Invesco Field) since 2008. It was one of the longest streaks in NCAA history, and a depressing fact for CU. But, the day after Thanksgiving, the Buffs beat Utah’s football team 17-14! Unfortunately it wasn’t on television, but thanks to my phone’s updates, I stayed in the loop. Hopefully this is the start of a road winning streak!

I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving and are getting ready for the rest of the winter holidays! Wish me luck on finals!
