The Sweet Life

Have you ever been strolling down the street and you stumble upon something great? This happened to me this past weekend while I was on a quest to find some fresh air. Between studying for my upcoming midterms and trying to brainstorm fundraising ideas for varies clubs I work with, my apartment was feeling very small.

I headed out thinking to end up somewhere on Pearl Street, as I usually do, but instead, I came upon the Farmers' market. I always knew that during the weekends, if the weather was nice enough, the Farmers' market was out there, but I have never had the opportunity to check it out! I decided to venture in, even though I knew I only had enough cash with me for a cup of coffee.

This was an entirely new experience for me; I have been to a Farmers' market before, but never in Boulder. Never like this. There were happy people all around me, beautiful crafts and TONS of fantastic tasting food! This was like a gold mine for me because I recently made a pledge to myself that I was going to try to cut out all processed foods from my diet - what better way to do that then to shop at the Farmers' market every weekend?

Excited about this newfound treasure, I quickly walked back to my apartment and scrounged up all of the cash and loose change I could find. I headed back down to the market and bought the ingredients for this delicous salad that I made last night.

While I am well aware that many cities have Farmers' markets on the weekends, I truly feel like this is another one of Boulder, Colorado's great aspects. This market was full of caring people and the entire place felt very welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be returning next weekend!
