Super Bowl

Monday, February 4, 2013

This year, the Super Bowl was played against the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens, as I'm sure most of you know. Since I am from the Bay Area, I naturally was cheering for the 49ers! The morning of the Super Bowl, my friends and I weren't exactly sure about what we were going to do. Some of them just wanted to watch it in Kappa, some wanted to skip it all together, but some of us wanted a real Super Bowl experience. Growing up, my parents always threw a big Super Bowl party. We hung elaborate decorations with the colors of each team around the house, invited all of our friends, placed bets, and ate a lot of chips, pizza, and chicken wings. Being away from home, I wanted to continue on the tradition of having a big Super Bowl get together.

We convinced some of our friends who live across the street to have us over for the game. In exchange for them having us over, we supplied the pizza, chicken wings, chips and dip, just like home. Although we didn't bring any decorations to hang, we made sure that each person dawned a color of one of teams. We went over for kick off and watched the game all together. All of our friends were a split on who they wanted to win the game. There was a lot of yelling at the TV and at each other, but in the end we all agreed on one thing, Beyonce won the Super Bowl. After we cleaned up everything and went home we all decided that we had put together a pretty good Super Bowl Sunday.
