Spring Break: New York

Monday, April 1, 2013

This Sprink Break, I went to New York City with my Mom and sister. It was so nice to get a whole week off and just relax for a little bit. We got in on Sunday night, so I stayed with my roommate in Littleton for two days before we left, where we watched Grease 2 and hung out with her family. When we got into New York, we went to a restaurant on top of an art museum. We began to notice that we stuck out a little bit because we were wearing brightly colored pants and jackets while everybody in New York was wearing black and grey. The next day, we went to the Harry Potter exhibit, which was awesome by the way, and to the Museum of Natural History, which just made me want to watch "Night at the Museum". That night, we went to The Colbert Report. This show was really awesome to see how it was filmed and made me want to pursue my Broadcast Production major even more.

The next day, we walked around SoHo and saw NYU. It looked like a completely different college experience than attending CU Boulder, but it still looked like a great time. I would still definitely pick CU if I had to do it all over again. We then went and saw "Cinderella" on Broadway and went to dinner with some of my sister's friends from CU Boulder, which just goes to show that the friends you make here can last a lifetime. The next day we went to Times Square and saw the Broadway play "Newsies". Since I love the movie already, I was absolutely in awe at this play and if you ever get the chance, you should go and see it right away. We went home on that Thursday and were off onto our next adventure. I was so sad to leave this amazing city but I hope to be back to visit or live there sometime soon!
