I just returned yesterday from my spring break trip to California. I was so excited for a beachy, sunny vacation but what I got was a cold, sometimes rainy adventure. Despite the weather, I had an awesome week. I got to visit one of my best friends at University of Southern California. I got to meet all of her friends and go to her favorite places in Los Angeles. After that, I went to visit one of my lifelong friends at University of Redlands. Once again, it was very fun getting to meet all of her friends and seeing what her school life was like. After a few days there, I took the train to Dana Point, California to spend a long weekend with my family.
On the first day my family was there, we went to Disneyland. I was the youngest in our group, at 18, and was accompanied by my brother who is 24, my cousin who is 30, and my cousin's wife who is 28. We may have looked a little odd but we had an awesome day. Later in the week, my dad and I went kayaking around the harbor in Dana Point. Being from Tacoma, WA, along the Puget Sound, I am very used to seeing water everyday. I have been missing the water like crazy here in Colorado so it felt so nice to be on the water again, and we lucked out with an afternoon of wonderful warm weather.
Although I faced a few difficulties in my travels (I may have cried in the Orange County airport two days in a row), I am back in Boulder and so happy. As much as I loved my vacation, I was so ready to come back here towards the end of it.
