As I've mentioned in my older posts from last school year, I signed up for my first half marathon coming up in less than a month! I've been pretty good up to this point about mixing up my running on a treadmill and hitting the pavement. I recently moved into a new apartment in August, which is located in "South" Boulder. I put south in quotes because I live more east than south from a directional standpoint, but I digress.
When I first moved into my apartment, I noticed people and dogs walking/running amongst the trees facing my windows. At first I didn't really know what to make of it because it is Boulder after all. Many people are inclined to do unusual things. My adventurous-side kicked in, however, and I decided to explore what was behind the trees. Little did I know, I discovered a new trail.
Boulder is full of trails. You can bike, walk, run, hike, etc. on various paths all through town and near the Flatirons. Luckily, I now have an awesome 2-mile trail conveniently located across the street from my residence. This will make the remainder of my marathon preparation worthwhile because the view on the trail near my apartment is breathtaking, as you can see in the picture below:
I love being able to live somewhere I always have opportunities to discover new things. When you get to CU-Boulder, I hope many of you have the same experience. I definitely recommend checking out some of the beautiful trails Boulder has to offer, both in town and on the outskirts, near where I live. You won't be disappointed!
