Run in the Boulder Sun

Sunday, April 21, 2013

This weekend Boulder finally got some of that sunshine Colorado is infamous for.

Since I don’t know how long the sunshine will last (it’s supposed to snow this week), I decided to take advantage and be outside as much as I could this weekend. After a week with- not one, not two, but three 10+ page papers due, I definitely needed a little relaxation before the end of the semester craziness really starts.

This semester, I’ve gotten really in to running. How could I not living in Boulder? I’ve even decided to run in the Bolder Boulder this May. It’s one of Boulder’s greatest traditions and I thought it would be the perfect way for me to say goodbye to the city before I move to LA in July.

My favorite spot to run has to be along the Boulder Creek. It is so calming and I love the feeling of the cool breeze while I run.

About 3.5 miles into my 5 mile run, I was a little thirsty and could not stop thinking about a cool treat. And what better cool treat is there than froyo? So, I switched up my route and took a little detour to Ripple. Of all the places to eat that are Boulder specific, I think that this one is definitely high on my list of favorites.

After enjoying my delicious treat and some cold water, I laced my shoes back up and headed back towards the trail. I love how active Boulder is. There are always so many friendly faces out and about on the trails. It’s a little joke of mine that Colorado is the only place where other runners will smile at you and say hello--- just because we are all so happy to be able to run in this beautiful place.

This week I don’t have much due in my classes, so I will take the time to get organized for the last few weeks/finals week.

I hope you all enjoy your week!
