Let the Countdown Begin!!

Sunday, December 1, 2013

Happy Sunday! My Thanksgiving break was amazing! Even though I had a little bit of work to do, I had plenty of time to relax and prepare for going back to school. There isn’t only about 2 and a half weeks left of school until winter break. I consider this time to be the most stressful for a couple different reasons. The first reason is that finals are rapidly approaching… and this can be scary. I have never been the best test taker… so I start studying for finals very early. Second, in addition to preparing for finals, this is usually the time where you have to do tons of projects and group projects. For example, by the end of semester (in 2.5 weeks), I will have completed 2 huge group projects (with presentations), and 3 papers. Now this is ALL on top of studying for the finals (which I have 3). As you can probably guess, it is very stressful. I always get nervous about all the work I have to do… but it always gets done. It may be difficult, but it is definitely doable. One of the biggest tips I can give you all is to stay on top of everything. As long as you plan everything out and make sure you have ample time to complete papers and projects, college will be a breeze for you. College is very different then high school. What I mean is that you have to really depend on yourself. You don’t have your parents around to schedules your things for you and make sure you are on track. On the first day that I moved into my residence hall freshman year my mom said “Madisen, college is what you make of it”. You are in charge of your academic success!

This upcoming week is going to be fun because I personally love “getting back into the groove of things”. One thing that I am a little scared about is the future weather forecast… I guess winter is right around the corner! Let the countdown begin!!
