The Laughing Goat

Hey guys!

Today I am going to write about one of my favorite places in Boulder: The Laughing Goat Coffeehouse!  The Laughing Goat has one location on Pearl Street, and a smaller location in the Norlin Library on campus.  The fact that we have a coffee shop in our library is definitely one of the best things about it, if you ask me! It is always nice if you need a little pick-me-up during the day, or if you need a snack, or something to sustain you during long study sessions. At night though, the Laughing Goat on Pearl Street is one of my favorite places in Boulder to hang out with friends!

Last year, a group of friends and I had a weekly tradition we upheld all year: Adventure Thursdays.  Adventure Thursdays were a time when we could do something fun and take a break from studying before the weekend.  We would go to dinner somewhere other than the dining hall, watch or go to see movies, or just go exploring around Boulder! Sometimes we went to 29th Street and went shopping, or we went to Pearl Street to walk around and absorb some of the eclectic personality of Boulder! We tried out tons of different coffee shops all over Pearl Street, the Hill, and other ones in South and North Boulder.  I loved trying them all out and figuring out which ones I liked best, based on atmosphere, taste of the drinks, and location in Boulder.  One of our all-around favorites was the Laughing Goat! My drink of preference is normally a chai latte, and at the Laughing Goat, they have both Bhakti Chai and 3rd Street Chai.  Bhakti Chai is very popular in Boulder and it is spicier than 3rd Street Chai.  But even if that is not your favorite, the Laughing Goat has a wide variety of drinks and snacks, including gluten free and vegan options.  One thing you can almost always guarantee in Boulder is that you will always have gluten free and vegan options!

The Laughing Goat is also an awesome place to hang out at night because every night they have live music performances.  It is always a great time to go and get a hot drink on a cold night and spend some time listening to live music.  Some of my favorite memories from last year took place on Adventure Thursdays, and at the Laughing Goat.  I definitely recommend checking it out!
