It’s hard to believe sometimes, but there is an entire world beyond the beautiful CU campus. Sometimes it’s hard to tell when campus ends and the town of Boulder begins. And I LOVE that. Why? Because it means that Boulder is truly a college town. You can’t go anywhere without finding deals especially for students and when you see families or children you can't help but think its unusual. The best way I can describe CU is that it’s a college with a town around it, not a town with a college in it. However, sometimes you just have to get away from campus and away from the town and explore.
So, on Saturday morning, my boyfriend and I laced up our shoes and headed for Chautauqua.
Chautauqua is one of my favorite hiking spots here in Boulder. There are several trails which lead to the Flatirons, the Royal Arch and others. As you increase in elevation, the views of Boulder become better and better. You can see campus, the reservoir, Pearl Street and everything in between. Seeing Boulder from this view always gives me an overwhelming feeling of appreciation and awe. “I go to school here!”
If you choose to come to CU, I guarantee you will have many of those "Wow, I can't believe this is where I go to school" moments.
