My whole life I have dreamed of visiting New York City. I’ve spent a lot of time watching Friends, Gossip Girl, Sex and the City and dreaming of what it would be like to walk down the streets where these shows were set. This Spring Break, my dream finally came true!
On Tuesday, my boyfriend, Steven and I took the redeye out to JFK. We arrived in New York around 7am and we were greeted by the city skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge.
We spent our time visiting Times Square, the 9/11 Memorial, riding the Staten Island Ferry and getting the hang of the subway system. New York was all that I ever dreamed of and more. I loved the hustle and bustle of the streets and watching all the people hurry to their destinations. Of course, we also indulged in the delicious food --- and we even got to go to Serendipity!
I’ve been very lucky this year to travel to the east coast twice, and I know this won’t be my last trip out there. I have to admit, I did miss the sunshine, crisp air, and delicious Colorado water, but I enjoyed being somewhere different for a while.
This trip made me excited for the future, and I cannot wait to see where life takes me after graduation. Graduation! Only…five more weeks. Oh my! These next few weeks will bring lots of due dates and probably some stress, but I will definitely be looking forward to what comes next!
