Halloween: Ghouls, Goblins, and Ghosts.... and a Ninja!

Sunday, November 3, 2013

This week has been a blast! Even though Thanksgiving and Christmas are my two favorite holidays since its time to spend with family, Halloween is one of the best holidays to celebrate here at CU Boulder. Almost everyone dresses up in some sort of costume over multiple days! Since Halloween fell on a Thursday this year, CU students and Boulder celebrates Halloween Thursday-Saturday. When I was walking around campus on the Thursday (Halloween), there were tons of students dressed up in scary, funny, and just weird costumes! Even though I had a test that day and was decently stressed, seeing people in costume lightened my stress and my mood! After I got home from my test, I was greeted by a surprise at my door! My mom loves sending cute little “care packages” to me. I opened up the box and it was a gift basket full of Halloween goodies. There is a picture of the gift basket below J ! On Friday and Saturday evening I went down to Pearl Street Mall with some friends. I was dressed as a ninja! Even though costumes are decently pricy, what I did was way back in September I ordered the costume online and it was on sale! There are definitely ways to get around spending a lot of money on a costume. A lot of my friends created their own costumes using things that had in their apartment! I couldn’t even tell the difference of the homemade costumes and the store bought ones!

On Saturday night, after having a late dinner down on Pearl Street in our Halloween Costumes and enjoying the nighttime festivities, it was time to head home. It had gotten pretty cold out so my friend and I decided to call CU NightRide. NightRide is a free service offered to CU students. If you are anywhere within Boulder City limits, you can call NightRide and they will pick you up and drop you off to wherever you live. NightRide is owned and operated by the University. That being said, we don’t have to pay for the car ride or tip since the drivers are paid by the university! It is a great service to have available if needed. I have used NightRide probably 10 times a school year! I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween and I hope you come check back next Sunday for another post!
