Hall of Excellence
If any of you have ever taken a campus tour at CU-Boulder, you may remember the stop at the top of Old Main in the Heritage Center. The Heritage Center is a museum that basically seeks to honor and remember some of CU-Boulder’s most significant historical moments, people and accomplishments.
In the Heritage Center, there is an exhibit titled “The Hall of Excellence.” This hall devoted to CU-Boulder’s most significant and esteemed alumni. It includes people like Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, Byron White, a Supreme Court justice and all-American running back, and Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the founders of South Park.
The hall is made up of gold plaques, each with a picture and description of the person they are honoring. I have made it my life goal to get a gold plaque in the Hall of Excellence.
As soon as my university permanently honors whatever I do with a gold plaque, then I know that I have made it. What more could a guy want? It’s as if the university is saying to me, “Griffin, congratulations, you are a cool dude, here is a sweet gold plaque for you.” Is that too much to ask for?
Until next time,
Griffin
