Growing Up

Wednesday, June 13, 2012

This past week as been pretty laid back, but pretty interesting at the same time. My brother had his college orientation over the weekend. Sadly he will not be becoming a Buff like I had hoped (he wants to stay close to home), but a Wheaton Lyon! I'm so proud of him! It was interesting hearing about his orientation and then thinking all he way back to mine. Hard to think that it was only three summers ago, but it already seems so long ago. I think the funniest part about my orientation was sitting next to a boy that I would end up hanging out with for majority of my freshman year. Funny part was that neither of us remembered that we had met one another at orientation until right before winter break! Currently I find myself wishing it was August already so I could be back in Boulder...but at the same time I don't want that to happen! I don't want to graduate! I'm starting to become jealous of the freshman who have four years left in Boulder! I'll totally switch places!

Adding to the weirdness of sending my not-so-little brother off to college orientation, I started working again at the pool that I've worked at for years. I don't know what happened this past year, but some of the kids that I've known since I started working there suddenly got really tall and a lot older. Some of the first kids I ever taught swimming lessons to are entering high school next year. And I'm suddenly the age of all the camp directors. If that doesn't make you feel old, I don't know what does.

The rest of this week will be kind of boring...lots of shopping for business clothes because I start my internship on the 25th. But Saturday my friends and I are going to a salsa club and I'm really excited! I haven't danced salsa since before finals started, and I've been waiting to find a place to dance here! Hopefully it's just as good as Alicante! Other than that, there's not much going on in sleepy old Boston! Hopefully something more exciting will happen and I can tell you guys about it next week, but until then, enjoy the summer weather!
