Fall in Boulder: Leaves are Changing and Midterms are Right Around the Corner

Sunday, September 29, 2013

Hey everyone! I hope you all have been enjoying the last few days of September! The weather here has been absolutely amazing! I love that Boulder has all four seasons yet we still have over 300 days of sunshine a year! I would have to say that Fall and Winter are my two favorite seasons here in Boulder. The way the leaves change in the fall here is absolutely breathtaking. Every day that I walk on campus, I take a bunch of photos and then send them to my parents! Since Fall officially started a week ago, I can feel a change in the air! The nights are much cooler and the mornings are crisper. These past few weeks I never had to grab a sweater or jacket on the way to class, but I have a feeling I will need to start doing that very soon! I went to Red Rocks on Saturday morning just to enjoy the morning and take in the amazing scenery. If you have never heard of Red Rocks, it is one of the top concert venues in the world. There are some awesome musicians that come and play at Red Rocks. The picture below is of Red Rocks!

This week I have started 3 major projects and papers for my classes. Most of them are 6-10 page papers that cover topics and material that I have been learning in class. One of my hardest classes I am taking is called Communication Rhetoric. For some reason, I have a hard time connecting with the course material. I have been going to my TA’s (teach assistant) office hours which has been helping a lot. This upcoming week will be exciting because I have an appointment with my career counselor. I have been meeting with her since the end of my freshman year. She has helped me with deciding what career path I want to pursue after I graduate! She also has helped me with things like resume editing, and internship hunting. It is really great that CU offers Career Services as a tool to CU students. In my meeting this upcoming week, I am planning on discussing what I plan to do after I graduate and possibly start putting out feelers for job openings! I didn’t really think that I would start this soon looking for a job after graduation in May, but I guess the earlier you start, the better your chances of finding a job are. My best friend from back home has already been to a couple interviews. It is a bit scary…. And of course exciting that I will be graduating in May and starting a new chapter in my life!
