Well I finally started working my second job. I still work my internship in Boston from 8-2, and then I work my second job from 4-8. It gets pretty crazy, especially with so many tourists around Boston. Definitely makes the commute a bit slower! But it's a nice change of pace. I go from a strict office setting to teaching children swimming lessons. Total 180! But I enjoy both. The other interns and I were invited to a dinner at an advisor's house, and it was really fun. Delicious Italian food and great company...and no talk of work which was even better!

My 4th of July was pretty relaxed. We ended up lounging by the pool and playing some volleyball, and then my family and I had our annual cook out dinner, which consisted of St. Louis ribs and corn bread. Sounds simple, but my mom and dad are amazing cooks so it is always a treat. I unfortunately didn't make it in to Boston to see the concert at the half shell or the fireworks this year, but apparently it was kind of a disaster! There was a mandatory evacuation of about 5,000 people due to lightning, and then once the fireworks started there was a torrential downpour! But it was also really hot and sticky out, so I'm sure the rain was welcome!

Today was another hot and sticky day, but it was also my first ever Red Sox vs. Yankees game! I am a huge Sox fan (what can I say, I'm a Boston girl!) and going to one of these games has been something I have wanted to do for years. For those of you who are unaware, the rivalry between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees is one of the biggest rivalries in sports history. Almost like CU Buffs vs. CSU Rams. Personally, the rivalry became personal when Johnny Damon was traded to the Yankees (his hair was amazing, and it was a sad day when he left the Sox,) but this rivalry is intense for all of the fans. It was really interesting to see just how many Yankees fans dared to show their face at Fenway! I'm just kidding, there are a lot of Yankees fans everywhere, but more than I realized here in Boston. But the boos for A-Rod and Jeter still overwhelmed the clapping, so I guess it was ok! Even though we lost the game, I still had a great time with my friend Lauren. We even got the Boston B painted on our cheeks for extra team spirit! It was a really awesome time.

This week should be nice, mainly because it will finally be cooler! I can't take the heat! But other than that it's just more work. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!
