Broomball!!!!

Broomball may not be at the top of the list when most people think of college intramurals but I am here to change your mind. It is a possibility that I am slightly jaded at the moment as we did just win a broomball game to advance one step closer to owning another coveted intramural championship shirt. There are many other fun intramurals of course the classic football, basketball, soccer, etc however I found dodge ball to be far more serious than I had anticipated and from what I hear inner tube water polar may be the best thing sense sliced bread. However these are not the things I am writing this blog on; it’s all about the broomball. I should go no further by quickly summarizing what broomball is. This sport is essentially hockey with slightly less pads, shoes instead of skates, a grapefruit size ball instead of a puck and for a stick you use lacrosse stick with some sort of hardened triangular plastic head. Broomball will highlight an individual’s athletic prowess then quickly strips it away when you fall for practically no reason on the open ice. It succeeds in providing you with the exhilaration of any other sport but the comic entertainment of watching adults scoot over ice in shoes with no traction! My suggestion to you is when you come to college find out if your university offers broomball and if so don’t wait until late in your academic carrier to finally join the hilarious sensation!
