Baseball, Baseball, Baseball (All Weekend)

Monday, April 7, 2014

Hi all!

It’s finally beginning to feel like spring in Boulder again. And that means that summer is right around the corner! The last few weeks of spring semester are always particularly busy and interesting for me. Between school, intramurals, club baseball, and other outdoor activities, there is always something interesting going on.

This past weekend, I spent my time on the baseball diamond. From Friday night to Sunday, the CU Club Baseball team played a total of 5 games. It was a busy weekend to say the least. Starting on Friday night, we played the University of Northern Colorado under the lights. Playing under the lights at night will always be special to me because it is probably as close as I will ever come to feeling like a professional baseball player. Right after everyone got out of classes, we all piled into a teammates truck (I think 10 people in all) and drove to the field. After a well fought game, we ended up on top, beating UNC 9-1.

The next morning, we all woke up early for a doubleheader against the University of Wyoming. Unfortunately, we didn’t play as well on Saturday as we did on Friday night. We lost both games to Wyoming but the weather was awesome and we all had a great time. On Sunday, we played Wyoming another two times to finish out our series against them. This time, we lost the first but won the second game in another great day of baseball. After a long weekend of baseball, we finished with a 2-3 record and a lot of time spent out in the sun. With only three more weekends left of games, the Club Baseball team is looking to make a push for the conference title and hopefully make the playoffs.

The best picture of the team I could get.

Until next time and GO BUFFS,
