Earlier tonight I attended an end-of-the-year banquet for Student Ambassadors. For those of you who do not know, as a Student Ambassador, I lead tours of campus a couple times per week. At the end of each semester, we have a big banquet to celebrate the end of the semester and recognize ambassadors who went above and beyond. Tonight, the banquet was held at The Sink. The Sink is located on The Hill, just west of campus, and is almost 100 years and is renowned for its burgers and pizza. President Obama even went there for pizza last year after speaking on campus and got a pizza renamed after him. It is one of the best restaurants on The Hill and great for students as well as parents. Needless to say, I ate more than my fair share of burgers and pizza tonight.
More importantly, I came away from tonight with many free items because of my involvement in Student Ambassadors. First, I received a CU coffee mug. As a non-coffee drinking college student, this mug will most likely be re-gifted to my parents in the future. Second, I got a great CU water bottle. Third, and most importantly, I received CU gold sweatbands which will be worn with pride at many CU basketball games to come.
Aside from the great free stuff, it was really an awesome banquet. Not only did I get free food and CU gear, but we all wore our ugliest sweaters. Despite my best attempts, I did not win the ugly sweater contest. All in all though, it was a great end to another semester as an ambassador.
Here are a couple of pictures from the banquet:
Until next time,
