If you have not been able to tell, I love to explore and try new things. I always want to experience the hype around or make my own opinion about a new restaurant, place, or activity in Boulder! This week's opportunities certainly fit this category.
For Valentine's day, I went on a double date (OoOoOoh I know!) to Sweet Cow Ice Cream in Boulder. If I have yet to mention Sweet Cow on my blog, I have done you all a disservice! You MUST go if you are visiting Boulder - rain or shine! They have a variety of crazy flavors such as Captain Crunch, Honey-Peanut-Butter-Pretzel, Red Hots, Red Bull Sorbet, and like 30 more. They also have homemade caramel and whipped creme. Just typing about it makes me want to run over there for a quick cone! This new North Boulder location just opened, and the venue did not disappoint. The front wall is made of windows facing the Flatirons, which is perfect for staying inside on a chilly night but still having a topic of discussion as you watch the sunset. Nice planning, Sweet Cow!
To celebrate the day after Valentine's day, my roommate and I ventured to the new Trader Joe's store in Boulder. She is from California, so TJ's is her second home, but it was my first time inside! Because the weather was 65 degrees and sunny, we walked from our house a little over two miles to the store to complete the full adventure. When we arrived, I was nothing but impressed. They sell very reasonably priced items for college students who still wish to eat produce and healthily on a college budget! We went through the line for orange chicken samples four times before getting in line and heading out. Backpacks stuffed with new goodies, we set off for home again. It was the perfect Sunday afternoon! I posted a picture of me in front of Trader Joe's below.
Boulder is also supposed to be getting a Dunkin' Donuts and a new Starbucks on The Hill within the next few months, so stay tuned for my write-up on those storefronts in Boulder.
The real deal, open for business!
