I Want To Be Apart of It--- New York, New York

Sunday, March 31, 2013

My whole life I have dreamed of visiting New York City. I’ve spent a lot of time watching Friends, Gossip Girl, Sex and the City and dreaming of what it would be like to walk down the streets where these shows were set. This Spring Break, my dream finally came true!

Springtime

Sunday, March 31, 2013

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying nice spring weather wherever you are, because we sure are in Boulder.

I’ve only been back in town (from spring break) for a few days, but those days have been gorgeous. It got up to just about 70° F today, which was enough to make me regret wearing jeans outside. It’s been fairly quiet for the past few days, but Boulder is definitely filling back up as school gets back on track and students return.

Pesach

Sunday, March 24, 2013

Tomorrow marks another installment of Passover.  Per tradition, I will be observing the holiday in Denver with my large extended family.  The annual Nathanson seder never fails to produce ample amounts of reflection, controversy, and great food.  Needless to say, I am as excited as always.

Buffs are dancing

Thursday, March 21, 2013

As is common knowledge, March is the best sports month of the year. Today marks the first day of the NCAA tournament this year. Already we have seen a few upsets, and as I am writing this, the Pac-12 sits at 1-0 with an Oregon upset over Oklahoma State.

Tomorrow, the Buffs are playing Illinois in Austin, TX. For the first time in 50 years, the Buffs have made the NCAA tournament for consecutive years. Naturally, I am really excited about this, and I am looking for the Buffs to pull it's second first round upset in as many years.

Spring Break is Almost Here!

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Hello everyone! I'm so excited that Spring Break is just around the corner! I looked at the weather for Boulder, and it looks like next week will be pretty chilly! Luckily, I'll be in Tuscon, and it's supposed to be sunny and warm the whole week! Needless to say, I'm going shopping for sunscreen tomorrow! But, before I can get ready for Arizona, I have so much to do! I have my American History midterm tomorrow, and then I defend my Honors Thesis on Friday! It's hard to believe that something I've worked so hard on for the past year is finally coming to an end.

Training for the BolderBoulder

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

My family has recently started the tradition of running the BolderBoulder which takes place every Memorial Day Weekend in Boulder. This race is the largest 10K with over 50,000 people running it. The route takes you around Boulder, which is such a beautiful place to runs. The race ends in Folsom Field, our football stadium, where you run around the track as you finish while everone who is already done with the race watches. It is such a cool experience because the whole weekend, there is a huge Expo down on the Pearl Street Mall and everyone is out and ready for the race.

A Pre-Spring Break Visitor

Sunday, March 17, 2013

Hello there again!

Unfortunately, I must again apologize for my lack of blogging. But there’s also a silver lining, because it means that I was doing fun things to share with you all and forgot to post! This past week, my good friend from high school, Rob, came to visit me in Boulder. He came out here last year for his spring break and made an encore journey. He goes to Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, so Boulder is quite a change of scenery, literally and otherwise.

Counting Down to Cali!

Sunday, March 17, 2013

This week I spent as much time as I could to finish up work for the week before spring break. Lots of my friends from other schools will be home this week for break, so I wanted to have my ski days open so I could go up with them for a couple more runs before the season comes to a close! Also, for spring break, I'm going to California with Young Life leader ladies for some relaxation, so i want the week to be free of papers or assignments looming over me!

I have spent this lovely Saturday night with the wonderful company of my Anthropology, International Political Economy, and Arab Awakening homework. I know it is lame, but a part of college is knowing when to stay home with your books over going out with your friends.

Finally Some Warm Weather!

Friday, March 15, 2013

Yesterday, it finally started to feel like Spring! It was 65 degrees outside and everybody was enjoying this newly found warm weather! Everywhere you looked people were doing homework on the grass or playing games with their friends. I even watched multiple classes hold class outside for the day! Only three days ago, we had a surprise snow storm that filled the entire town with white snow. It is hard to believe that now we are all wearing shorts and tank tops everywhere!

Peyton F. Manning (The F is for...)

Thursday, March 14, 2013

On Tuesday the Broncos signed Wes Welker to kick off NFL free agency. In case you somehow missed the biggest story in football this last year, the Broncos also have Peyton.

I have had the good fortune of actually seeing Peyton play live, and let me tell you, his throwing motion is as close to bliss as anything I've ever seen. It's like watching honey slowly slide down a wall, golden, sweet, and fluid. Truly lovely.
