Check your Status Transfer Students

You can check your application status through the 'Apply' tab on your MyCUBoulder account.

Once you have filled out and submitted an application, review the application instructions to make sure you have also submitted and/or requested all the required information and credentials. Missing information or credentials delay application processing and may affect your chances for admission. Incomplete applications cannot be reviewed until the necessary items are received.

We begin processing transfer applications for the spring term on October 1 and for summer and fall terms on February 1. After these dates, please give us 4 to 6 weeks to receive, process, and begin to evaluate your application and required credentials. If you have questions about what we have and have not received after this amount of time has passed, please contact our office at 303-492-6301 or at apply@colorado.edu.  Please note that we process applications in the order in which they are completed and received by our office. They are processed first come-first served. We release decisions daily and encourage you to continue to check your MyCUBoulder account.

Application Status Messages in MyCUBoulder

Once you submit your application you can track your admission status through your MyCUBoulder account. There are a few different messages that you will see as your application is reviewed. Here is a list of the status messages you may see in your account, what they mean, and if any action is required by you. If you have any questions about your application status message contact the Office of Admissions.

  • Thank you for submitting your application. This message appears as soon as you have submitted your application and may remain for up to 8 weeks after you submit your application while we process all your required credentials and verify that all your required credentials are official. If you have submitted a complete application (including test scores, transcripts, essays, letter of recommendation and application fee) on or before the transfer application deadline (October 1 for spring or April 1 for fall and summer), you will receive an admission decision within 6-8 weeks. Notifications begin rolling out on October 1 for spring applicants and March 1 for fall and summer applicants. We process applications in the order in which they are received. The earlier you submit a complete application, the earlier a decision will be made.
  • Your application is incomplete and we need additional information before we can review your application. This message appears after we have processed your application and reviewed whether or not all your required credentials are official and have been received. If you receive this status message, click the “View your checklist” link in your MyCUBoulder account to see what we have and have not received.
  • Your application is complete and being reviewed by the admissions committee. Your application is currently being reviewed by the admissions committee. A decision will be posted in your MyCUBoulder account as soon as possible. Notifications begin rolling out on October 1 for spring applicants and March 1 for fall and summer applicants.
  • Your application has been reviewed and we need additional information before making a final decision. The admissions committee has reviewed your application but would like to see additional information before making a final admission decision.  Click the “View your checklist” link in your MyCUBoulder account to see the requested items. You are encouraged to submit required credentials as soon as possible or as soon as they are available so we can continue to review your application and give you a final admission decision.

Understanding the MyCUBoulder Checklist

Once we have processed your application and your status no longer reads "Thank you for submitting your application," you may have access to a checklist to see what credentials we have and have not received, as well as information on what you need to do next, if anything. To get to your checklist, log in to your MyCUBoulder account and click on the 'Apply' tab. On the ‘Apply’ page, click the ‘Check your status’ button in the upper right corner, and then the link that says 'View your Checklist."

Keep Your E-mail and Mailing Address Current

Throughout the admission process we will send e-mail and printed information regarding admission, registration, and orientation, as well as other information to the e-mail and mailing address you included on your application. If either your e-mail or mailing address changes after you have submitted your application, you should update them immediately in your MyCUBoulder account.
