As a senior in high school I know that you have a lot going on. Between school work, clubs, jobs, family responsibilities or athletic events you are all engaged and busy people making the most out of your senior year! Perhaps you had not considered applying to the University of Colorado Boulder before today or perhaps you started, but have not completed, your application. I am happy to share that yes, you can still apply to CU Boulder! If you are planning to submit a freshman application to CU Boulder past the deadline there are a few things to keep in mind.
Please submit your application and all required application documents as soon as possible! As the deadline has passed the application may become unavailable at any time. Your university application will not be considered complete until we receive the application itself, the application fee (or fee waiver), an official high school transcript, official standardized test scores (either the SAT or the ACT), two essays and one academic letter of recommendation. You can review all of our required application components on the How to Apply page.
Once your application is complete we will begin to process all of your documents to complete your application for the Admission Committee to review. Applications are processed and sent to the Admission Committee in the order in which they are received, this process can take up to 8 weeks. Applicants who met the January 15 deadline will hear back no later than April 1, which means you will likely receive an admission decision after this date, please be patient! You can track the status of your application through the ‘Apply’ tab in your MyCUBoulder account. Learn more about how to track your application, what different status messages mean and how to decode your MyCUBoulder checklist on the Applied page.
The Admission Committee will conduct a holistic review of your application. It is important to note that priority consideration will be given to applicants who met our deadlines. We also provide the opportunity for applicants to defer their application, for up to one year, to a future term for which they can meet an upcoming deadline. If you choose to wait and apply for a different term, the next upcoming deadline, for the spring 2018 term, is October 1.
