Since 1972, the Presidents Leadership Class (PLC) has helped develop some of Colorado’s most talented undergraduate students into civic, business and community leaders. Our nationally recognized program is supported and directed by a partnership between the Presidents Leadership Class, Inc. and the University of Colorado at Boulder. Each year 50 of the University of Colorado at Boulder’s top entering freshmen are selected to be PLC Scholars. Each Scholar is awarded a $2,000 - $12,000 merit-based scholarship and receives four years of rigorous leadership training that fosters both intellectual and personal growth. PLC develops leaders who have a profound understanding of leadership and its responsible application within organizations, communities, the nation and the world. PLC’s four-year curriculum includes strong academic and experiential components designed to orient scholars to the theory and practice of leadership. Scholars develop leadership skills through weekly lectures given by business and community leaders, discussion groups, group projects, community service, and local and international internships. Most importantly, PLC scholars join a small and diverse community of passionate students while having access to all of the resources available at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
