Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
The provost is the chief academic officer of the university and deputy to the chancellor in the overall administrative management of the Boulder campus. The provost reports directly to the chancellor and serves as chief executive officer in the chancellor’s absence.
The provost’s responsibilities include oversight of the recruitment, development and promotion of faculty, deans, and other academic leaders. The provost also coordinates academic planning with budget preparation and capital development needs. The provost works collaboratively with the deans, faculty, staff and students in the exercise of shared governance for the Boulder campus.
The Office of the Provost provides leadership and services to the university in academic program, budget, research, and faculty matters.
