I met you in a delivery room,

And we were both tired from the journey,

Losing ourselves in each other’s eyes,

We both saw miracles,

And forgot our battered bodies,

As two travelers pause and look to the other before climbing the rest of the mountain,

So we paused to catch our breath,

“Life may get hard,”

Said you to me and I to you,

“But it can’t touch the place where we sit together, and rest our feet."

I met you in a delivery room,

And you may have thought you looked like hell,

But for me you couldn’t have been more beautiful.
