Mission Statement

The University of Colorado at Boulder Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research helps generate and transmit knowledge to those inside and outside the university through research, science, and creative works.

The office aims to carry out this mission by fostering an environment that supports research endeavors—particularly those involving interdisciplinary collaboration—while upholding the highest standards in research integrity. The end result of these efforts is visible in high research productivity, influential publications, active involvement of students, and proposal-driven, peer-reviewed federal research support.

In recent decades the university has done remarkably well in obtaining outside funding, national awards, and an exceptional faculty given its size and resources. Indeed, the University of Colorado at Boulder is one of the premier public research universities in the nation—and is committed to building upon this excellence.
