All research involving human participants that is conducted by UCB faculty, staff or students must receive some level of review by the Human Research Committee. Information, instructions, and downloadable forms needed to complete the review process can be found at this site. Click here for more information about the HRC.

All UCB faculty, staff, students, and faculty advisors engaged in research must have current educational certification. If you have completed the HRC tutorial or another educational or tutorial program (COMIRB, NIH, etc.) in the past, the certification is valid for three (3) years. If your certification is due to expire, please complete the CITI Program tutorial (see Educ. Materials & CITI ) to maintain your certification. If you have not completed any tutorial, you will be required to complete the CITI Education program prior to obtaining HRC approval for your protocol.
