What is the Buffalo Can Challenge (BuCC)?
The Buffalo Can Challenge is a competition organized to raise food and awareness for the Boulder Community Food Share . Registered groups design and build a sculpture out of nonperishable food items to raise awareness about hunger. This will be the first year of the BuCC and we hope to make it a CU annual tradition. The BuCC competition will be held at the Balch Field House on April 24, with public viewing and deconstruction on April 25th during the CU Spring Football event. Any campus group, department, office, and all student, staff, and faculty are welcome to register as a group.
- Please register your group and design with us by April 15th.
- Make sure that you have collected cans for your design IN ADVANCE of BuCC. Cans ARE NOT provided for BuCC--you must bring your own.
- Awards will be given in seven categories (See Rules)
- The food gathered during BuCC will be taken directly to the Food Share at the end of the event.
Why should you participate in BuCC?
- To build a stronger community and gain positive notoriety for your department, club, organization, or school.
- For the campus that you care about and for your community by donating your time and cans to alleviate the problem of hunger in Boulder County.
- To have fun and participate in the annual Buffalo Can Challenge at CU!
