Dennis Small Cultural Center/Student Programs Office

The Dennis Small Cultural Center is located in the University Memorial Center room 457, and is dedicated to on-campus ethnic and minority communities. The center is named after Dennis Small, a unique individual that was the University's original Ombudsman and champion of diversity on campus. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and some evenings.

The Office of Student Programs provides support for student groups planning events, as well as locating, evaluating, and booking speakers and artists. Support and referral services are provided for conferences, seminars, and educational, political, and social events in the UMC. The office is located in UMC 317. Student Event Planner
The Dennis Small Cultural Center seeks a highly motivated student to assist with the planning and development of multicultural events and programs. Work study is required. $7.25 - $8.60/hour starting pay. Summer availability (especially July and August) preferred. During the school year, a minimum of 10 office hours/week with additional hours for events is required. In addition to a strong commitment to diversity and social justice, candidates should possess excellent communication, time/project management, event planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently is a must. Familiarity with student activities, events, and programs on the CU-Boulder campus preferred. Staff members have the opportunity to gain experience in marketing and outreach, finance, public relations, talent buying, event planning, and the performing arts industry.

Student Marketing Coordinator
The Dennis Small Cultural Center seeks a highly motivated student to coordinate the marketing efforts of the Center as well as UMC Student Programs Office events. $7.25 - $8.60/hour starting pay. Work study required. 10-15 hours per week during school year; summer availability (especially July and August) preferred. Candidates should possess excellent communication, time/project management, event planning, and organizational skills as well as a commitment to diversity and social justice. The ability to work independently is a must. Experience in developing marketing strategies required. Familiarity with student activities, events, and multicultural programs on the CU-Boulder campus preferred. This position also has the opportunity to gain experience in finance, PR, talent buying, event planning, multi-cultural programming, and the music/performing arts industry.
