Initiative on Professional Practice in collaboration with the Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC)
The President's Teaching Scholars begin their 2008 initiative as presenters for the Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC) seminars and institutes in subject areas revelant to K-12 public school educators.
The Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC) is a nonprofit partnership of education and business leaders working to improve K-12 public education. The guiding principle driving their work is that all students will graduate from high school with the skills and knowledge to succeed in the 21st century. Their work is organized around two central areas of focus:
Professional Development
To provide high-quality professional development that guides and supports K-12 teachers, school leaders and district personnel as they implement research-based best practices that lead to student achievement.
Policy and Business Engagement
To build public awareness and understanding of fundamental education issues, advocate for effective education policies, and mobilze the business community to support student achievement and positive, sustainable change in our schools.
