Scholarships and Student Tuition and Fee Accounts
Scholarships are credited to the student's tuition and fee account approximately 10 days prior to the start of the semester if Scholarship Services has received the funds, the student is meeting the scholarship minimum enrollment requirements, and the student is making satisfactory academic progress. Students can review the status of their scholarships on the MyCU student portal.
Waitlisted, correspondence, and non-credit classes do not count towards minimum enrollment requirements. Private scholarships will credit to student bills at six credit hours for undergraduates and four credit hours for graduates unless full-time enrollment is specified by the donor. We will contact the donor or department awarding the scholarship after the drop/add deadline if the student does not meet the minimum enrollment requirements.
If CU-Boulder receives a scholarship after the tuition and fee account is paid for the semester, or if the scholarship is more than the balance due, a refund may be issued to the student. Students can confirm the status of the scholarship credit on myCUinfo. Refunds are deposited directly into students' bank accounts. Students sign up for direct deposit on myCUinfo. Learn more
Private scholarships for $1,000 or more will be split between the fall and spring term unless the donor has specified otherwise. Scholarships for less than $1,000 will credit to the student's account during the term the check is received. Private scholarship checks must be received in Scholarship Services by the tuition due date to avoid incurring late & service charges.
If parents are signed up for CU Bill & Pay, most private scholarships will show on the tuition and fee account as "Misc Private Schlp" and will not have specific donor detail. Students can view the specific donor information through the MyCU student portal. Authorization to CU Bill & Pay does not extend authorization for Scholarship Services to release information on specific scholarships. Learn more about releasing student information.
