Sustainability Information
Included in the LifeSkills Training program replication grant is sustainability training and technical assistance designed to aid sites in developing and implementing a sustainability plan. The Finance Project (TFP), one of several organizations that is working together to ensure this project’s success, is helping sites to build local capacity among LST leaders to design and implement effective financing and sustainability strategies.
The Finance Project is a non-profit policy research, technical assistance, training and information organization. Its mission is to support decision making that produces and sustains good results for children, families, and communities by developing and disseminating information, knowledge, tools and technical assistance for improved policies, programs, and financing strategies.
TFP is providing sustainability training and technical assistance to help LST leaders in developing and implementing a sustainability plan. To launch this work, TFP conducted a series of six, hour long webinars that:
~ Provided a step-by-step overview of the sustainability planning process
~ Shared guidance, tools and materials that LST sites can use to begin working on a sustainability plan
~ Gave LST leaders an opportunity to ask questions, share information and dialogue with their peers

A series of regional workshops are being been held through the 2011-2012 academic year, during which sites will receive in-person customized assistance with their sustainability planning efforts. Additional information about the regional follow-up meetings will be shared with the sites as the date for their location nears.
