A Learner-Centered Approach to Teaching Students to Read Research Papers Katye Blackwell, PhD Candidate, Lead Graduate Teacher, Psychology Katye shares her experiences assigning and grading research papers and methods of reading papers that helps students improve their writing skills. |
| September 28 | Engaging Students Through In-Class Activities Kimberley Casteline, Lead Graduate Teacher, Communication Kimberley uses in-class student activities in her Mass Communication class. In this workshop, she shares ideas and helps teachers to develop their own. |

| October 19 | Writing Your Teaching Statement & Your Philosophy of Teaching & Learning Laura Border, Director, Graduate Teacher Program What is the difference between a “teaching statement” and a “philosophy of teaching and learning” and how are they used? This workshop discusses models and formats. |
| October 26 | Creating Safer Spaces for LGBTQI Students Steph Wilenchek, Director GLBT Resource Center This interactive training helps participants develop a deeper awareness of personal ideas, stereotypes, and assumptions related to the LGBTQ community and helps increase participants’ comfort level supporting LGBTQ students and faculty in CU-Boulder classes. |
