JOB DESCRIPTION

The Lead Graduate Teacher (Lead) acts as a liaison between the Graduate Teacher Program (GTP) and the home department, and assists with discipline-specific TA training in the home department. Leads are trained to be teaching consultants and do not evaluate their peers. The Lead is hired and evaluated by the Director of the Graduate Teacher Program and the home department chair, and reports directly to the Lead Coordinators and to a faculty Mentor. The Lead may serve for either one or two years, but must reapply the second year. Candidates’ applications must be approved by their department chair and TA supervisor/coordinator (or other faculty as required by the department).
