In general, my standing administrative responsibilities have included, or now include: the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program; the Undergraduate Academy (Norlin and Boettcher and SURE scholars); the Chancellor's Leadership Residential Academic Program and its partner the Ethnic Living and Learning Community; the Top Scholarship Advising and Campus Assessment Office; the Office of International Education; the Office of Career Services (ended, July 1, 2008); the Office of Veteran’s Affairs (ended, July 1, 2008); the Student Academic Services Center; The Institute of Ethical and Civic Engagement; The President’s Leadership Class; all three ROTC programs; Chair, Assessment Oversight Committee; Chair, ‘CU101’ project; Chair, standing FCQ committee; advisory roles with the Daniels, Puksta and Boettcher scholarship programs; advisory roles for Planning and Budget Analysis, advisory participant for new SIS replacement process (Moses, Tablets, Steering); academic complaints from students, parents, and other constituents; teach one class each semester, supervised one Ph.D. student (now graduated), and contributed modestly to EEB service responsibilities.

I also carry out shorter-term responsibilities, often requiring substantial time commitments to include: Chair, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Search Committee; Chair of the NCAA Certification’s Sub-Committee on Academic Integrity; Steering Committee for Student Portal Project; Chair, Undergraduate Education Committee for 2030 initiative; Member, Financial Aid Appeals Committee; National Science Foundation Fellowship Selection Board; Editorial Board for Arctic, Antarctic and Alpine Research (ended 2007); proposal reviewer for the National Science Foundation; manuscript reviewer for several professional journals, author and principle investigator of National Science Foundation Biomath grant for undergraduate students; author and PI for two NSF sponsored Critical Thinking Analysis Test project sub-contracts; Norlin Scholar selection committee, GLBT consultations, faculty and administrative representative for the National Council Tour, presenter at Admissions events such as Talented Scholars Day, active member of President’s Teaching Scholars program, welcome presentations for many summer and fall orientation events; addressed students at Chancellor’s Convocation for incoming students; contributor to campus policies from Chancellor’s and Provost’s offices.
