Why Give Up Dieting?

10. Diets don’t work because they are temporary. Once weight is lost and the dieting has ceased, one will most likely regain the weight lost and possibly more.

9. Diets are expensive as they usually require special books, foods, memberships, or pills. Keep in mind that without these one could start exercising to lose weight and buy new clothes with the money saved.

8. Diets are boring. Diets often limit the variety of foods one eats, which can lead to uncontrollable food cravings and an increased preoccupation and even obsession with food.

7. Diets do not necessarily improve one’s health.

6. Diets do not make one beautiful. Glamour is a look, not a size. One’s accomplishments speak louder than one’s appearance.

5. Diets can turn into eating disorders. An obsession with food can lead into such an obsession to become thin that one develops anorexia, bulimia, or compulsive exercising.

4. Diets are not sexy. Sexy is being able to take care of oneself and perform activities that inspire happiness so that one can radiate sexiness. Feeling healthy allows one to look his/her best.

3. Diets can make one afraid of food. Food nourishes, comforts, and provides pleasure. Dieting can transform food into the enemy and deprive one of the numerous benefits of food.

2. Diets can rob one of energy. If one wants to lead a full and active life, proper nutrition is a necessity to meet the body’s needs.

1. Learning to love and accept one’s self and body rewards one with increased self-confidence, better health, and a sense of well-being that can last a lifetime.
