Fall 1995 Rocky Mountain Caravan to Support Black Mesa Traditional Communities

Principals of Unity

In accordance with our understanding of the millenia-long Covenant of Neighborship between the Traditional Hopi and Dineh Peoples and in keeping with the various statements of sovereignty and independence made by the various Communities resisting relocation from (and continually expanded mining upon) Black Mesa, we adopt the following Principals of Unity:

1) We are directly responsible to recognized representatives of relocation resistance communities including, but not necessarily limited to, Forest Lake, Cactus Valley, Red Willow Springs, Big Mountain, Teesto, et al.;

2) We take all of our direction and guidance in this project from the Traditional Elders (and their representatives) of the resistance communities we are supporting. No participants in this Caravan are in any way working with or for any foreign, national, state, local, or "tribal" government or their agents or employees;

3) Any group or individual who has worked with the governmental entities named in #2 above may participate in this Caravan upon making a formal written declaration that such relationships have been terminated and will not be renewed in the future. In certain special cases participation may depend upon consultation with the Traditionals named above;

4) Participation in this project is strictly dependant on adherence to #1, #2, and #3 above. Any group or individual who fails to adhere to these Principals of Unity may be asked to desist from participation in this Caravan. There will be a full and complete accounting to the Peoples of the Land of all aspects of this 1995 Fall Caravan.
