CUSAMS

Who We Are

CUSAMS a network of student abolitionists aspiring to combat all forms of modern-day slavery, both domestically and internationally, including: human trafficking, forced labor, child soldiers, and debt bondage.

We seek to accomplish this by staying informed; actively and creatively increasing awareness on the CU campus; connecting students to opportunities in the field; and raising funds for those fighting slavery on the front lines.

Events

  • CUSAMS regularly hosts campus events for both the CU community and the Boulder community.

For up-to-date info on upcoming events, visit our Twitter, Facebook, or tumblr site.

If you would like to help with an event; if you're an on-campus organization wanting to partner with us, or if you're an off-campus organization needing a sponsor for an event with similar goals, just send us an email.

Partner With Us

CU Students:  If you're part of a student group, fraternity, sorority, or RAP, and  you'd like to educate your fellow members about the issue, invite CU·SAMS to come speak at one of your meetings.  Or, if possible, we could aid you in educating them yourself.

You can also help promote CU·SAMS by telling your friends, your roommates, other people in your residence halls, or simply asking your professors if you can make an announcement to the class about CU·SAMS and give the web address out, so people can get started learning about the issue on their own.

We will occasionally be raising money for organizations aiding victims. You can partner with us by giving, even in small amounts-- you could start a penny drive in your dorm!

You also have the opportunity to educate your professors and classmates on your own Many are still unaware that this problem exists! When choose paper or presentation topics, make modern-slavery your topic of choice!

Awareness Organizations:  If you're a campus organization with a heart for this issue, we're interested in partnering with you.  Send us an email if you'd like us to come speak at one of your meetings or have an idea for a joint event.

Churches & Religious Communities: Contact us if you're interested in finding out how to educate your local congregation on the issue of modern slavery, or if you'd like to help support an event on campus.

Local Businessnes:  Contact us if you're interested in sponsoring events.  Your business will receive notable mention on our website and at the sponsored event as a token of our gratitude.
