Road Nationals 2004
Our 2004 National's Road Team Members are: Men: Jeremie Texier, Josh Bezecny, Kevin Selker, Jordan Logan, Rolf Eisinger, and Adam Blanchard. Women: Jennifer Gersbach, Eszter Horanyi, Erin Huck, Molly Hummel, and Missy Thompson. Congratulations to all of the riders. They will be accompanied by our coaches Margell Abel (women), Chris Wentz (women), and Patrick Sullivan (men).

In the words of women's coach Chris Wentz: "What a great season! I've never been a part of a team with so many passionate and hard working friends- this road season was amazing. It was filled with many ups and a few downs for us all to learn from. From courageous to gracious, both I and Margell have great memories of racing and training, and are excited at what the nationals hold for the entire team."

Women's Bios:

  • Jennifer Gersbach- What can't this girl do? DH nat champ, STXC nat champ, Omnium, 2nd CX nats? Skinny tires can transmit the skill just as well it seems. Jen made the [imaginary RMCC] podium in every road race she attended, and went from hella-sketchy to #1 in the TTT.
  • Eszter Horanyi- Very strong in any road-race, and a V-8 in the TTT, Eszter is another rider that makes this team super-reliable. Never dropping out of any race, she would have to pass out to give anything less than her best. All season Eszter played tramendous support for Missy and Jen in the road-races, and was never afraid to launch the first suicide break of substance in a crit. The madison RR course is perfect for her- with fast flats and power climbs.
  • Erin Huck- The CU veteran, Erin has raced great for the team for many years. She was the best placed finisher in last national's RR, and can hang in any crit. Able to make the selection on any climb and outsprint her companions, she is perfect for the madison course, and despite her size, is a train in the TTT. Always asking the most of herself and her team, Erin has saved the day many times, and never gets rattled.
  • Molly Hummel- Super against the clock, and one to never quit, Molly has great all-around abilities that compliment the other strengths of the team. Great technical skills for the crit and with power to burn she was a huge contributor to our closers in the Crits and a diesel in the TTT.
  • Missy Thompson- The fastest finisher in the conference, and probably the nation, Missy has been around (racing) forever. With several junior track titles and huge experience from T-Mobile, she has the experience to pull magic off when the going gets tough, and get through any race on willpower alone. Missy will be one of 3 riders gunning for the Individual omnium.

Women's Tentative Race Lineup:

  • Crit: Molly, Missy, Jen
  • Road Race: Eszter, Erin, Jen Missy
  • TTT: Erin, Eszter, Jen, Molly

Men's Bios:

  • Jeremie is our most experienced guy, is strong as hell, tactically astute, and a great comic relief.
  • Josh is next year's vice president and currently the team's strongest rider.
  • Kevin, although coming back from injury, hasn't lost much and will probably gain it all back by nats. He is as strong as any collegiate rider in the country at his best.
  • Jordan has proven he can ride the front of a hard crit, RR, and is a train on the TT bike.
  • Rolf has been improving his tactics as the season has progressed and proved that he has learned his lessons and his fitness is really peaking right now.
  • Adam is also coming back from injury. He will continue to return to top form as nats approaches and will provide a critical role in either the crit or TTT to prevent anyone from having to race all three days; he is smooth, powerful, and Darby taught me [Coach Patrick Sullivan] that there is truly something to hometown inspiration and advantage.

Men's Tentative Race Lineup:

  • Crit: Jeremie, Rolf, Adam
  • Road Race: Josh, Kevin, Rolf, Jordan
  • TTT: Jeremie, Josh, Kevin, Jordan
